Preserving the Beauty of Traditional Ko-Imari Floral Motifs Through a Minimalist Design
ARITA PORCELAIN LAB is a brand created by Yazaemon Kiln, a historic Arita ware kiln founded in 1804 with over 220 years of heritage. While preserving traditional craftsmanship, the brand embraces contemporary lifestyles and international design sensibilities, introducing a new expression of Arita porcelain to the world.
The Ko-Imari Floral Motif decorating this one-tier jubako is inspired by the decorative style of Ko-Imari porcelain, which captivated European royalty and aristocracy during the Edo period. Richly adorned with seasonal flowers such as peonies, chrysanthemums, and plum blossoms, Ko-Imari has long been celebrated worldwide as one of Japan's finest porcelain traditions.
Rather than reproducing the traditional pattern exactly, this piece reinterprets the motif by simplifying its elements for modern living. The result is a refined design that preserves the elegance of Ko-Imari while naturally complementing contemporary interiors and dining settings.
Ideal for serving Japanese sweets, seasonal dishes, or even as a stylish lunch box for picnics, this jubako adds a sense of occasion and seasonal beauty to the table. It is equally suited for entertaining guests or as a memorable gift.
